FAQs

Frequently Asked Questions About Dragon Medical Practice Edition

  1. When is Dragon Medical 11 being released?
This is it! The brand name Dragon Medical now refers to the family of Dragon Medical products, including Dragon Medical Practice Edition (Dragon Medical 11) and Dragon Medical Enterprise Network Edition.
  2. How does licensing work?
Dragon Medical Practice Edition is licenses by user. Each individual using Dragon Medical is required to purchase a license.
  3. How many machines can I install it on?
Dragon Medical Practice Edition can be installed on up to 4 machines per user license.
  4. I've used Dragon in the past and it didn't work. Why should I expect anything different with Dragon Medical Practice Edition?
With each new version of Dragon Medical the recognition accuracy improves significantly. We agree that earlier versions were very challenging to use and required many hours of work to get reasonable recognition accuracy. With Dragon Medical Practice Edition and training from Logan Solutions you should have 99% recognition accuracy right out of the box.
  5. I'm upgrading from Dragon Medical 9, but I want to put it on my new Windows 7 machine. Is that possible?
Yes, but you'll need to tell us that upfront so we can get you the correct installation DVD. You'll also be required to provide us with your current license number, which can be found in the machine. We'll help you locate it.
  6. What if there are more than 25 doctors in my practice?
Dragon Medical Practice Edition is specifically intended for practices with 1-24 physicians. If there are 25 or more physicians in your practice, or if your practice is owned by a hospital or hospital entity, you should look at Dragon Medical Enterprise Network Edition

Dragon Medical Practice Edition

The rush toward computerized patient records is on. For medical practices, federal stimulus funds are now available to cover the cost of buying and deploying EHRs…and then some. But when physicians start using their EHRs, they’ll discover the truth: EHRs slow physicians down.

Call it Dragon Medical 11, If You Like

Dragon Medical Practice Edition, the successor to the revolutionary Dragon Medical 10.1, helps physicians, nurse practitioners and other clinicians efficiently navigate and dictate medical decision-making and treatment plans directly into a patient’s electronic record. Designed for small practices with 24 physicians or less, Dragon Medical Practice Edition helps practices:

  • Improve documentation
  • Eliminate transcription costs
  • Increase physician satisfaction
  • Enhance efficiency
  • Increase practice profitability

  • Improve care efficiency. Dragon Medical Practice Edition offers virtually instant response time, saving clinicians valuable minutes in their day – no more waiting for transcribed reports or needing to type into their EHRs.
  • Reduce transcription and the cost of documentation. Using speech recognition technology, clinicians dictate, edit and sign medical records at the point of care, eliminating as much as $12,000 in annual transcription costs.
  • Spend more time with patients. Increased accuracy means fewer errors to correct, which lets clinicians spend more time with patients, improving both quality of care and patient satisfaction.
  • Improve documentation. Documentation with Dragon Medical speech recognition technology – as opposed to notes built by point-and-click EHR templates alone – results in higher rates of reimbursement.
  • Secure patient information. Dragon Medical Practice Edition supports HIPAA patient confidentiality guidelines.
  • Improve physician satisfaction. With Dragon Medical Practice Edition, physicians look forward to practicing medicine – and getting home in time for dinner.
  • Increase reimbursement. A major study by a physician practice in the Northeast determined that using Dragon Medical with an EHR increases per-physician reimbursement by $10,000 per year per physician.
